Trevor Platt

Trevor's earlier work in New Zealand was predominantly watercolours with fine detail featuring local flora and fauna. New and bold styles have evolved for Trevor using oils and large canvasses. Marine life, seascapes and local scenes of Moreton Bay have become a hallmark of Trevor’s work.

One feature that usually dominates Trevor’s work is beautiful skies, an aspect of years in the airforce that stays with him as an artist. This love of the skies is now emerging as a new style that is quite distinct and separate from previous work, a new simplicity not seen before.

Highly regarded and awarded, Trevor’s work has been purchased by the Governor General of New Zealand and presented to the King and Queen of Sweden. Silverwork is purchased by the Federal and Local Governments for overseas gifts and special occasions and paintings have been chosen to represent Australia with a series of Trevor’s coastal scenes selected to be featured for the CHOGM meeting held at Coolum near Brisbane.
